The Countryside Alliance is a national political campaigning, not for profit membership organisation known for its work on rural issues however it is anything but a single-issue organisation as it embraces a broad agenda of campaigns. With around 90,000 members and a comparable number of supporters, the Alliance promotes and protects rural life in Parliament, the media and on the ground.
Having significantly improved their marketing over the last two years and implemented a new CRM system, they are keen to ensure they make the most of the commercial opportunities this creates.
A new role of Commercial Director has been created to lead and develop all areas of the Alliance’s commercial activities and income generation. There is currently a team of seven that reports into this position who will act as valuable resources to ensure that a comprehensive strategy can be developed and implemented.
Key elements will be:
improve and expand member engagement
utilise digital channels to ensure costs effective, measurable marketing
build sponsorship and fundraising opportunities
represent the Countryside Alliance in the media, with commercial partners and the members
generate full value from the Alliance’s campaigning activities
develop a reliable income stream
The role offers the right person the chance to make a significant impact across the organisation. It reports into the CEO and will require compassion and belief in the fundamental principles of the Countryside Alliance.
A background in B2C fundraising, marketing and business development, preferably from a membership-focused organisation in the private, public or third sector, will be key. The role is a full time, permanent position and is based in Vauxhall, London.
